On December 1, the awarding ceremony of the 16th China graduate mathematical modeling contest of "Huawei Cup" was held in Fuzhou University. Our University won the excellent organization award, which is the first time that our university has won the honor since organizing graduate students to participate in the mathematical modeling contest. According to the final scores of the participating units, 54 excellent organization awards were selected from 486 graduate training units in China. Our university ranked 39th, and ranked third among Shaanxi universities, next only to Xi'an Jiaotong University and northwest Polytechnic University, which achieved a major breakthrough in the achievements of mathematical modeling contest for graduate students.
A total of 14014 teams of graduate students participated in the competition, and 188 teams (1.3%) won the first prize, 1903 teams (13%) won the second prize, and 2823 teams (20%) won the third prize. Through selection at different levels, a total of 64 teams successfully participated in the competition, and finally won one first prize (1.6%), 11 second prizes (17%), and 20 third prizes (31.3%). The number of participants, the number of awards and the proportion of awards reached a record high. One of the first prize is to achieve a breakthrough of zero, won a good reputation for the school.
The graduate school attaches great importance to it, widely mobilizes and seriously organizes, requiring all students to participate and tutors to guide the whole process; promoting competition and innovation by scientific research; ensuring the effectiveness of innovation practice and the enthusiasm of teachers and students through the combination of point, line and plane, and multi-directional incentive to ensure the enthusiasm of teachers and students, the mode of "two all, two promotion and two guarantee" is explored to improve the innovation and practice ability of graduate students, which effectively stimulates the graduate students The innovative spirit of the students has improved their innovative ability. In 2019, the results of our graduate students in the digital simulation competition, the research electricity competition and the "core" competition set a new record, which effectively promoted the improvement of the quality of graduate education.
